How much does a 1kW wind turbine actually generate?The average annual output of the K1 wind turbine is 200 to 300 watts per hour. In winter you'll see better results — on average about 30% better than in summer.Why is a vertical turbine better than a horizontal one for a home?A vertical wind turbine is designed for quiet rotor operation, which makes it nearly silent — unlike horizontal turbines, which produce a constant whistle and hum.Vibration is also an important factor: horizontal turbines transmit vibrations to the mast, and from there into the ground, which leads to the die-off of soil fauna and makes the soil around such a turbine less fertile.And of course, the ecological factor. The fast, thin blades of a horizontal turbine are almost invisible to birds and can injure or kill the animal.How often is maintenance needed?Like any equipment, the turbine requires periodic maintenance. On average, maintenance is needed once a year, or every 10,000–12,000 kilowatts generated.
